St. Augustine Eco Tours provides personalized outings reserved for six passengers or less per boat. This insures a very dynamic trip as the guide can cater the experience to the interests of the group. All guides are certified naturalists and USCG licensed Captains who will explain the elements of the estuary. Our most popular one and a half hour trip explores the rivers and creeks surrounding St. Augustine and combines dolphin and bird watching with marine ecology, historic sights, and an amazing boat ride.
A GROUP OF RARE FLORIDA MANATEE

We often see Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin and will occasionally spot manatee and sea turtles. The abundance of flora and fauna in this area makes every trip unique and exciting.
Responsible interaction is a major element and we employ hydrophones to listen to dolphin communication and echolocation beneath the water. Dip nets collect marine organisms like harmless jellyfish and nudibranchs for examination. Other scientific instruments measure salinity, water temp and speed of current.
This trip is guaranteed to excite and educate guests of all ages--our youngest passenger to date was six months old and our most experienced celebrated her 90 birthday on a sunset trip. Our goal is to provide intimate experiences for everyone that wants to get out on the water. A quiet sunset trip, a sunrise photographic outing or an educational birding tour—you choose! Check the activities calendar for specific trips or contact us to set up a private tour based on your specific interest. The Boats: We have chosen
rigid hull inflatable boats (RIBs) specifically for our tours in St. Augustine. These boats are the perfect platform for viewing wildlife at eye level while offering a safe, stable, comfortable dry ride. They are versatile crafts, able to reach into the shallows of the salt marsh and make effortless beach landings for exploring and beach combing. The boats offer plenty of room with seats for all passengers. Shaded seating is available in the rear. They have great range and often cover over 15 miles in an hour and a half trip. The boats offer a deep-V fiberglass hull and wide beam surrounded by multi-chambered air compartments. These air chambers absorb the impact of prevailing chop and keep the passengers dry inside. The “tubes,” as they are commonly referred to, make a very comfortable seat and viewing platform for guests. Conventional seating is available for all passengers and while stopping to observe dolphins, birds and manatee, guests can move over to the tube for an eye-to-eye encounter and great photography opportunities.
